All-American Burger with Grilled Vidalia® Onions

What better way to add flavor to the All American burger than to include the world’s sweetest onion, the Vidalia Onion? This recipe was photographed by Jodi Danen of Create Kids Club.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. Lean ground beef chuck
  • 1 Large RealSweet® Vidalia onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 Slice bread, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tsp. each, Salt & Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ c. Olive oil
  • 4 Sesame buns
  • Tomato, lettuce and cheese as desired
Instructions
  1. Place ground beef in a large bowl and mix in eggs, bread, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce until ingredients are evenly distributed in the meat.
  2. Gently form the meat into patties.
  3. Lightly oil grill grates and preheat to high.
  4. Grill burgers and onions undisturbed for 3 to 5 minutes before flipping and cooking for another 3 to 5 minutes or until the patties feel firm and onions start to char.
  5. Remove the burgers from the grill and place on the buns; top as desired.
