Southwest Steak and Sweet Onion Salad

Southwest flavors combined with juicy steak and sweet onions makes for a crowd-pleasing salad! Enjoy it with ranch dressing or our Sweet Onion salad dressing for a flavor combination sure to wow to crowd.

Ingredients
  • 1 medium sweet Onion
  • 1 (12 oz) package of romaine salad
  • 2 lbs flank steak
  • 2 ears (or 1½ cups) of yellow corn
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 Tbsp of paprika
  • 1 Tbsp of chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp of salt
  • 1 Tbsp of ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp of cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp of ground cumin
  • ½ tsp of garlic powder
  • ½ cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • olive oil
  • ranch dressing, amount as desired
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine the dried spices and 2 Tbsp of olive oil and mix well into a paste-like consistency. Toss steak in the mix, turning to coat well.
  2. On a hot grill, cook the steak on both sides to desired doneness.
  3. Remove the meat from the grill and set aside for ten minutes before thinly slicing against the grain
  4. Rub ears of corn with another 2 Tbsp. of olive oil and cook until a small amount of charring occurs. You can also use 1½ cups of canned corn.
  5. Place romaine salad in a large bowl and toss with the ranch dressing.
  6. Add sliced RealSweet Vidalia onions, corn, tomatoes, cheese and sliced steak.
  7. Top with additional Ranch dressing as desired.
